You should listen to blackalicious, you'd probably really like blazing arrow even if Gift of Gab is kind of a square (lol he's a nice guy) but he has that tonge twisty melodic flow you'd like.

Jay Z in his prime was an excellent rapper Reasonable Doubt is a classic, The Blueprint is a Classic, The Black Album is excellent. Id reccomend listening to DP2, D'evils,Can't Knock the Hustle, U Don't Know, Song Cry, Blueprint (song), Lyrical Exercise, 99 Problems, Moment of Clarity, Encore.... and many more songs. Also check out his verse on Diamonds From Sierra Leone Remix

the only one of these i like is encore, and even then i prefer linkin park's version. and even then just for the hook, the verses are 3/10. just like all of his fucking verses.

Elision I usually find myself agreeing with you.

This is definitely not one of those times.

I'm glad I could show my ignorance on the subject.

Who would of thought that a female started it all.

Every rapper as good as Jay-Z is overrated because he's obviously going to get praised a lot and then there will be other people who don't think he lives up to the praise. Biggie is overrated, Pac is overrated, Nas is overrated, Eminem is overrated. It's all so meaningless

Wonder if there are a substantial number of people who think The Beatles are overrated. I am used to thinking that they are sort of undisputed. Which should mean their music is so undeniably brilliant that no one can dispute it, or a lot of time has passed and their influence endures. Mainstream hip-hop is probably still too new for this and very few rappers (if any) have this status.
