Um....dude actually Rahim means merciful and that'd be "Abdul Rahim" what you're thinking of. Don't know about what Rakim means in Arabic but in urdu (which incorporates a lot of words from the arabic vocabulary) it means "A writer or a correspondent".
Rakim = Rahim.
