So?
My point is pretty straightforward.

First impression is kinda meh tbh.
Seems like some innovative / cool sounding music and some nice layering of sounds and moods but very mediocre rapping and thoughts from 'Ye tbh, not nearly as engaging as 'Dark Fantasy'.
It sounds cohesive, which is good but... it almost doesn't feel like an album, just like a ride of sounds and crooning and occasional rapping... and moments where I'm supposed to be impressed with the long moments of singing or 'deep' musical texture...
Also, Kanye will get all the credit for the music of this, but I don't see why when everyone else produced this shit. I know he oversaw it but... 3 years for some average 'Ye verses?... Meh.
Maybe it's a grower. But first impressions aren't great for me.

Love the album more and more with each listen.
TRSL wrote:After 5 listens: 7/10 overall, defenitely his worst solo album. I thought it would be more of a concept album, but a couple of songs are all over the place imo. I like Black Skinhead, New Slaves, Blood On The Leaves and Bound 2 a lot though, but only those 4 are great songs, the other 6 are meh.
I'm dissapointed.
Trimss wrote:Fuck no. Most of the beats are awkward as fuck and the weird sound effects, cluttered samples and beat switches are honestly one of the reason why I don't like the album.
Yes, they start well but then I don't know why Ye decides to switch beats and ruins it all.
