Just because someone isn't in my top 10 doesn't mean I don't think they're good looooooooooool

There are more than 10 good rappers

obviously, but when that one dude was saying everything about the 2 you said that he knew nothing about hip-hop.

No, because as Satire said he was just using those rappers to sound like he knows Hip-Hop but it was obvious he didn't.

LL Cool J
Eminem
Jay-Z
Nas
Talib Kweli
Big daddy kane
The Notorious Big
Big L
Common

My current faves are J. Cole, Ice cube and Rakim (the album Follow the leader is genius). Trying to get into the Beastie boys too.

It's just incredibly weird that anybody can say that Rakim is overrated. He is one of the best rhymers of all time and the rapper who changed the game forever with his debut (Paid in full) which is not even his best album. Let alone his usage of the language, his flow, enunciation, musicality, metaphors, everything. He is a perfect emcee.

Nothing to do with skill, but my favorites/who I listen to the most CURRENTLY are:

1. Eminem
2. Kanye West
3. Jay-Z
4. Lupe Fiasco
5. Drake
6. Lil Wayne
7. Outkast
8. Tech N9ne
9. Kid Cudi
10. Nas

I honestly like the sound of most new rappers better than old rappers. Don't count out my taste as someone who is only exposed to today's radio. I listen to just as much Tupac, Biggie, and Wu as Wayne, Drake, and Kanye. I just prefer newer rap for everyday listening. Then again, I go on different kicks all the time. I'll go for a month bumping DZK, Gravediggaz, Tech N9ne, and D12. Basically, if I could only have 10 artists on my iPod, this is who it'd be.

i think what makes a top 10 is either artists with real lyrical ability like Em and or real motivating, moving artists like 2pac, and just what they've done for hip hop.

1. 2pac
2. Eminem
3. Nas
4. Jay-Z
5. The Wu-Tang Clan
6. Immortal Technique
7. Big L
8. LL Cool J
9. Run DMC
10. Outkast

Aside from my top 5, this list always changes, but...

Kool G Rap
Ghostface Killah
Eminem
Pharoahe Monch
Andre 3000

Nas
Masta Ace
Jay-Z
Big Boi
Scarface/Black Thought

I used to have Big L and Biggie in my top 10, but their lack of material holds them back (at least until I start listening to them again)
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
