36 Chambers is the most overrated album. 3/4 of the songs are the exact same song, yeah I'm not saying they are similar or have similar content, they are basically the same exact songs. There is no multi's, boring flows, monotonous gangsta talk and no concepts. The only songs I would ever listen to again are C.R.E.A.M and M.E.T.H.O.D Man and maybe Tearz. Lol @ Devil's Advocate never listening to it and calling it a classic.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be seen as a classic in a few years. Illmatic is the greatest album ever, EVER!

All Eyez On Me wasn't that good.

The thing about double albums is that, instead of raising your expectations with the quantity like you should, people disregard the fuck ton of filler because of the fact there is 1 CD's worth of good songs.

The Love Below also carried the fuck out of SpeakerBoxxx.

LOL @ FreeSpeech thinking his opinion on hip-hop holds more weight over someone who lives in Lebanon

America dominates the world in terms of tv shows, movies, and music.....EVERYONE in the world gets it, and there aint no references that only Americans can understand. USA = Simple, it's universal, and it's not some obscure country.

However, if you tried to watch Lebanese TV, Lebanese Movies, or Lebanese music then I imagine you would fall considerably short.

That is why it's kinda good to be from a country where English aint your first language, because not only can you enjoy your own culture (and language) you can also embrace the English speaking world with ease.

There is nothing you know about US Hip-Hop, that someone from Lebanon couldn't know.

Most people who don't have English as a first language find it very hard to grasp wordplay and write multis I've come to understand.

Yea u define gutter, you have grown up with hip hop,yet u end up listenin to kanye and wayne.
no,kanye is not lyrical, examples of lyrical are:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rDysbl6fAE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=px-e1sfmYzo
kanye never did, never is coming close to these.
kanye makes enjoyable music,i give you that,he a good artist,an average rapper.
lol @ yo last statement, how can a classic be overrated, thats fuckin contradiction at its finest.
i mean come on,if you were twice as intelligent as u think u are,you would still be stupid.
fuckin dumb ass,yea @ that grown up in the culture shit again,u didnt,i bet ya mother did tho?
you never gonna be the man she is. :coffee:

Hip hop culture doesn't equal ghetto hood rats, you stupid little shit. That is why I say you have no room to talk being from Lebanon, you don't understand anything.
If you can listen to a song like Roses, Hey Mama, or Family Business and still deny Kanye's poetry, you're just a moron. Music is all about expression.
I won't be the man my mother is? Nice insult. Homie look at you and then look at me, you have man boobs you Lebanese cum guzzler. You look like you'd have a heart attack the second you tried to jog. Real manly of you.

Haha I said I did it mostly to piss him off. But yes, he isn't a part of the culture so...

FreeSpeech wrote:I really like Illmatic, but it's generally overrated by a bunch of 15 year old kids who hear it's a Classic and then proceed to suck it's dick when they don't know what they're talking about. Same with 36 Chambers. Both are good and influential, they're just overrated. 36 Chambers much more so than Illmatic.

What kind of shit is this?

Firstly, why the fuck would you even listen to the opinions of 15 year olds anyway, the fact that you take their opinion to heart says more about you then it does any of them, because at the very least they're not going with whatevers hot at the moment and calling it the best album ever or best rapper alive (ahem Lil Wayne), at least they've taken time out to research true hip hop classics and even if it's not genuine, they like it.

Illmatic and 36 Chambers are easily the two biggest (well certainly Illmatic) highly rated albums ever made, by traditional hip hop lovers and hip hop lovers full stop. They're called the greatest albums ever by the above two types of people, so if pretentious 15 year olds start saying it's the best album ever, it doesn't make it overrated, because it already is the best album ever, even if it wasn't, the real hip hop lovers general perception of the album will never get overridden by 15 year olds.

Stupid ass theory. Cop out theory, blame it all on the kids. And where the fuck are these kids you're talking about? You pick on a minority of kids, when the majority listen to trash. SMH.

Well there is a bit, there are definitely places where it has true hip hop culture and you grow up under the hip hop movement.

But I agree with your overall point completely. Understanding and appreciation of hip hop isn't held to where you live, I'd rather conversate with someone like Hiphopdane who lives in Denmark or Revoultionary who's all the way in Jordan or the UK boys here than say Amadeo when he's from Texas.

Chill, I love Illmatic, it's just overrated by a lot of people. I didn't mean 15 year old kids specifically, that was just a generalization. I meant there's tons of supposed hip hop heads who honestly don't know what they're talking about that hype it just because they think they're supposed to. Yes they're great albums, but their "groundbreaking hype" is similar to Biggie and Pac's death hype if you know what I mean. Being the first doesn't make something the greatest.

Yeah I'm not being some nationalistic ignorant ass, I was mostly just pissing him off haha. But he is an idiot, he said hip hop culture = gutter, so he clearly doesn't understand the entirety of the culture...

Get Rich or Die Trying is the most over rated of all time.
