Nas, I like his discography better. However, I love Lupe as well, and Lupe can be more diverse and entertaining than Nas now a days but It Was Written, Hip Hop Is Dead, and Stillmatic > Lupe's discography in my personal opinion.

If Distant Relatives counts as Today, Nas. Life is good is geared up to be lyrically good but just boring in general (all three singles sound fucking DATED) but i'd still take that over "Words i Never said" which sounds horrendous.

As for the round. This is the hardest one for me, Lupe and Nas are my current favorite artists. I think Food & Liquor 2 will be better than Life Is Good, and Lupe is better than Nas. BUT, given their output in the past year, I'll vote for Nas just because he's killed every guest verse, and sounds better than he did in the past 10 years. Lupe has yet to unlock his true powers, lol. But it will happen on September 25th. The day when all others rappers will need to take a rest for a while.

The thing is i'm a debator in general so all this "conscious" "deep" shit that have people in rap up in a bunch (Control Sytem, Striaght outta Compton, 2pac philosophies) sound laughably impractical, contrived or irrelevant. I'm more for aesthetics. I want it to SOUND good. I want the Tech N9ne speed, the kendrick lamar smooth, the B.o.B fun stuff and not necessarily the "blood" shit by all these conscious guys. When i listen to it, i am looking forward to quotables- little nuggets of words that resonate.
