Why do you have a fetish for lyrics? It's one aspect of good music.

It's the biggest aspect for some people.

I don't. That's why I like all kinds of rap, not just the super lyrical. I like Diddy's new album, and Diddy's not lyrical at all. I like Cudi, and he's not exactly the world's greatest wordsmith. I also take production into account, which is why Kanye's new album is great to me, even though lyrically he's nothing special

It's not all about lyrics, I know that. But to me, Relapse > Teflon Don. Lyrically, production-wise, flow-wise, storytelling...everything is better to me than the Teflon Don

If you want a lyrical nut, talk to Class (no offense to you, Class). As for me, I DON'T have a "fetish" for lyrics. Even though it's one of the most important parts of the music for me, like I said, it's not all about lyrics and I'm well aware of that :coffee:

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

And what about albums that have no lyrics whatsoever, and subpar lyrics but golden in other areas?

Ever heard of Da Endtroducing?

(If you're talking to me) Get Rich Or Die Tryin' is one of my favorite album. That album is average at best lyrically.

Albums with no lyrics would be instrumental albums :shifty:

Of course, I'm being a smart ass there

As for sub-par lyrics...I already stated Diddy's new album. Good album, but lyrically it's WAY sub par

Gotta agree with this, lyrics are the most important for me but I can still listen to some mainstream rappers who aren't that lyrical and enjoy there music (TI, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Kanye, Wiz Khalifa)
Rick Ross is just fucking horrible though, no matter how good the production I can't take him seriously he'll always be a fucking joke in my eyes.
