Blueprint 2 is far from Jay's 4th best. I take it as you haven't heard "In My Lifetime, Vol.1", "Hard Knock Life, Vol. 2", & "American Gangster".
Those three are amazing albums.

ok lets take it like this.
any 3 jay albums u pick are losing against MMLP SSLP TES.

Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint & The Black Album are a formidable match imo.

The only one that really comes close is Reasonable Doubt. Black Album was very good and Blueprint was a classic musically but it lacked the rawness and lyrical display that Jay had on RD.

Hiphopdane wrote: Tend to agree with that. Sometimes rappers make their lyrics a little too hard to understand but Jay-Z knows how to balance it. He has the better delivery, metaphors and flows (latter is based on his prime stuff) while Eminem has the rhymes and story telling. Lyrically I prefer Eminem because his albums can get me trough all kind of different emotions but if I grew up anywhere close to the world Jay-Z raps about, I would probably choose him.
I don't feel like going into any big debate about that track but even though I think Em did better on it, I agree that one track never can be a true representation of what an emcee is capable of. I mean, people should judge them on their catalouges, not just one verse or two.

Jay-Z is very talented but he is really been heading downwards for a long time.
Em had one Encore jay has like 4.
Em is the better lyricist,
story telling
and incredible rhyming.
he is far more skilled with his flows, yes jay had some amazing metaphors but so did Em,EM IS WAY MORE VERSATILE AND CREATIVE.
While Em has 2 albums that define an MC and are straight classics in SSLP & MMLP.
2 amazing in TES Relapse.
a very solid album in recovery.
and a piece of trash called Encore.
this is not taking anythin away from jay from,im a big big fan,i got like 5 albums of his memorized lol.

but if u take jay's best 4 albums (Reasonable Doubt,BP1,BP2,Black Album)
and compare them against Em's 4 best albums (SSLP,MMLP,TES,Relapse)
i think we have a clear winner, dont we?
and i dont like bringing out that Em killed jay on renegade shit.
but Jay actualy had a chance to easily do better than Em,cuz he heard the verses before he pinned his obviously for the known fact that renegade is originally a BME track.
i presonally dont think Em fell off,the people who say he did,say so because he went down from a REALLY REALLLY high place.
