- I've got close to genius level I.Q, I can substantiate to any level I want.
-If you listened to Illmatic and the first thing that leapt out at you was the production, then we might have a bit of a problem.
-The Kanye is future Jay thing is something that is so absurd, it's not worth my time. It sounds like something a lonely Kanye Stan made up while counting the cracks in his ceiling.
-Eminem, at his worst, is more self aware than Kanye at his best. If you think all the Kanye rants and running into poles and general impulsiveness are just one elaborate publicity stunt, then I'm a Nigerian prince with my assets trapped abroad, help me claim it and we'll share.
@KingLance
I made the HHDX thread, I didnt say people > critics though I believe the idea has merit. I also think KTT, for the most part, is like the Sodom and Gomorrah of group-think and imbecility i.e it should be killed with fire.
I meant actual writers, authors with actual books.
kkaniff wrote:If music is as subjective as you say, then why do you and damn near every Kanye stan I know, place so much importance on year end lists?
First it was sales that was the determining factor when Kanye beat 50 cent, now it's critical acclaim when Yeezus is struggling to go Gold.
Also, Flockaveli had as much, or even more of an influence on the culture than 808's but I don't see anybody calling Waka Flocka a creative genius.
Also, make a list of the albums that dropped after 808's and count the ones influenced by Kanye's sound. (Please don't think Kanye invented or even was directly responsible for the popularity of Autotune).
kkaniff wrote:Nope, the sales proved that people didn't want 50 CENT anymore, it's like saying people stopped using autotune 'cos Jay Z made D.O.A.
Correlation doesn't imply causation.
And it proved that people wanted something new all right, just not exclusively what Kanye was offering, Graduation went platinum, Tha Carter 3 went platinum IN A WEEK, so you could say Wayne triggered more of a culture change than Kanye.

I dimly remember you saying a lot of idiotic stuff in the Eminem section which I responded to by sonning you quite thoroughly.
I may be mistaking you for some other retard though.
...
I still haven't heard one credible reason why TF should be among the top 100 greatest albums of all time though, all I hear are repititions of "if you can't see it, you're too dense" and "it had dope production".
As Revolutionary said, this is boring.
