How the fuck does the Recipe get eliminated before compton?!! How? Can someone explain that to me. Yeah, i like Real and seeing it eliminated early broke my heart but comparing that to The Recipe is an apples to oranges type of thing.

Compton and The Recipe are the same exact concept. One is La, one is Compton. Both with Dre as the guest and ghostwritten by Kendrick.

And The Recipe is So much better than Compton its not even funny.

The ones on compton are aggressive, but they are on top of the beat not insync with them.

I enjoy the recipe but that shit would have been a terrible outro for the album tbh, its place was definitely on the bonus disc. The same goes for black boy fly, good track but it's definitely not the kind of track that I'd listen to when I bump the album from the beginning to the end.

just checked the elimination game on different forums (ktt, jcole/kdotnation, etc)... Real is always the first to be eliminated and the last 3 songs are always: maad city, sing about me/dying of thirst, money trees.

You know what's really funny about The Recipe to me? Kendrick made an organic radio SMASH hit. Its got the cool vibe of money trees people love so much, the radio appeal Swimming Pools has and better lyrics than Compton.

And the only reason he did not make that a single was because he would blow up too big hahaha. People are fucking sheep. They hear something is good and then everyone follows that. Real eliminated first always? Lol pathetic. That song is fresh as fuck.

And maybe i use elimination games differently. Its less "which songs fit the album?" to "which songs would i rather hear" so, Swimming Pools remix, Black Boy Fly, Cartoons and Cereal are all amazing and i would choose them over album cuts like Sherane.

And tbh, that is the FIRST track that should go, always. All other songs work independently as songs. You can put on Sing about me and just vibe to that and feel the emotion on that. Sherane on the other hand is an OBVIOUS album glue cut. Because it doesn't have the humour of the skits, it loses its appeal way faster. As a part of the narrative? Great. As a standalone track? Average as fuck

Anyway, The Art of Peer pressure is EASILY the best song on the album and probably top 5 Kendrick songs of all time. So fuck all those forums lol

I actually love Sherane as a stand alone track. It has great lyricism and story telling in only a slightly less impressive way than Art of Peer Pressure. Compton is easily the worst song on the album and then Poetic Justice only because of how amateur Drake is even though Kendrick's parts are great.

Sherane is as great as AOTPP, like B.Dot on rapradar said in one of his articles, you can "enjoy" one song more than the other but it's really difficult to say which one is "better" and I personally play Sherane way more than AOTPP.

And momentsgolden is trippin lol.. song is great, but it's not even a top 15 kendrick song, not sure if it's even top 5 on the album

As for the recipe, they didn't release it as a single because it's a typical West coast song and a lot of popular radios said NO to regional sounding hip hop... that's why TDE released the non west coast songs as singles (SP, PJ, BDKMV) and even backseat freestyle became the street single instead of Maad City
