The real reason underground rappers are underground

There is a reason that underground artists are underground. I know i've said it many times but, you can be a great lyricists and technically be a great rapper but nobody gives a fuck if you have no personality and your songs are boring as fuck and the majority of it is shitty music-wise. Now I listen to both, I just like good music regardless, Brother Ali is one of my fav artists out right now, Pharoahe Monche is great, Slaughterhouse is great (still underground as of now) but artists like MF Doom or Jedi Mind Tricks bore me. A lot of people do like it though, it's all opinion but I'll bet a good 3/4 of the underground would jump at the chance to go mainstream in a heartbeat whether they say it or not.

Again you're getting fucking tools who wish to be mainstream against guys that legitimately care about the music mixed up and stop speaking in absolutes, have you listened to most of the underground?? If not than shut up. Quaismato, Jlive, Kool Keith, etc have no personality?

There's another reason, you can't even have a normal conversation with underground fans (majority)because they know everything and anything they say should be viewed as fact. Anything that's mainstream can't be as good as anything underground right? That is bullshit, Nas, Em, Kanye all make better music than probably any of the 3 you mentioned, Kool Keith is weird as fuck to me not something i'm going to listen to and I doubt he has many fans but w/e it's all opinion. - I agree but what do you mean dumb down? Has Em dumbed down? Certainly not on Relapse. Has Nas dumbed down, not much. You can put all the multi's or w/e else you want but I'd rather hear a song that's better structured and better music-wise.
