Jay Z Signs K. Koke

Postby Innovation » Jan 17th, '11, 23:56

Jay Z has signed K. Koke. K. Koke is a British grime artist and from what I've seen, he's pretty good.

It's good to see Jay Z taking an interest in the UK scene, and I hope more good artists from the UK get some reignition like this.

Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

K Koke is NOT a grime artist.

That would be like saying Rihanna is a rapper.

This is very surprising though, what the fuck? Out of all the people Jay could have signed from the UK, this is a very strange decision. He isn't the greatest, and he isn't that commercially viable either.

If he was going to sign someone from the UK, I always figured it would be one of those pop rapper faggots like Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder, etc.

As someone posted above, I think the best bet would have been Lowkey. He's immense.

I also don't think K. Koke being called a grime artist is as drastic as Rihanna being called a rapper.

He needs to stop signing these fucking faggots and work on the ones he has now.

Edit: Actually clicked the link and watched him rap. Not a complete faggot and waste of time, I take it back. But it is a really strange decision to sign this guy.

He's doing great for a independent rapper, especially an independent British rapper where the country is so so so so so so small, compared to the USA. Think the population of the UK is 65 million, and the US is 307 million.

he got 90,000+ fans on Facebook
nearly 15,000 followers on Twitter

and two youtube vids with over 750k views

To say he is totally independent, it's impressive. Hopefully it will grow with the release of his album too

That terrorism song is actually pretty good but God damn that accent is annoying

Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
