Best Hip Hop performances thread

What are some of you favourite Hip Hop performances? Either live at concerts, award shows or whatever.

My favourite is Eminem's with Elton John, because the world was watching on that day. Everyone has seen that.

My next favourite is the Nas tribute to Tupac at the VHI Honors with Tupac's family present. I was lucky enough to be there that day, and watching Nas perform this song, and then hug Tupac's sister without either of them saying anything for almost 2 minutes whilst the entire audience was on their feet clapping to then seeing Tupac's sister crying uncontrollably was incredible.

Still gives me goosebumps. :worship:

^^ :y:

Source awards '95. Everybody remembers this as the night the East/West war started. What gets overlooked is the great perfomance by Death Row. They were changing the rap game, and the whole line up performed. Everyone from Dre to Nate Dogg to a young, hungry, pissed off Snoop. Hell, DJ Quik was dissing MC Eiht with Eiht watching from the crowd. Bad night for hip hop, but classic show.

That night will never be forgotten in Hip Hop history.

Not one of those individual performances was anything short of great.

Although Quik's was probably the most memorable, I still gotta go with Snoop, he had charisma that even James Bond would envy.

Death Row and that beef wasted Snoop Dogg's potential in my opinion. I think he's the biggest waste of potential in hip hop history, and he's still a legend, which just goes to show. That East-West thing turned a lot of people off Snoop down here in the East, whereas Tupac's voice was too loud not to shatter that. That limited Snoop, and then after it all went down he went to No Limit, and that almost destroyed him as an MC, where they instilled some shocking characteristics in his MC game.

People say Snoop was never lyrical, he never had message, he was just this or that. Bullshit. Listen to early Snoop Dogg, and then come say that. He was forced to go down the wrong path.

He should have been standing next to Em, Nas, Jay etc. right now, rather than a level below.
