Just Blaze's 5 favourite emcees

The beastie boys probably wouldn't make my list but the other ones are quite good choices. Having said that he makes a good point and I honestly can't blame anyone for liking Beastie. They are legends.

Real unorthodox list, but I like it since he has Prodigy in it. Though P's prime was probably in 96, but I can see liking his style more in 95.

Pretty good list..
I don't agree with some of it though..
I guess he likes classic stuff.

I actually like that his list was unorthodox (no not just because it has Prodigy in it), but it also gives a shout out to lesser known emcees. Rather than the cliche Pac, Big, Nas, Em, Jay etc.

Not at all, just because his top 5 isn't Eminem, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake and Kanye West doesn't mean he's living in the past.

He's got great taste and it's diverse, and it's all about what connected with you when you were getting into it.

If anything, he just listed some of the most influential rappers in history...
Still think he should of picked Em..Em's impact is undeniable..

My own top 5 is quite typical (Em, Nas, Rakim, Biggie and Kweli/Common) so I only think it is cool to hear other choices instead of the same over and over again. How can you live in the past when it is music? The Beatles sold 25 millions album in the 00's, and that was only in the US.

If I had to mention some underrated/lesser known rappers it would be:

Nature
O.C.
Jeru the damanja
Journalist (from The Left)
C.L. Smooth

This :coffee:
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

I always thought Nature was asscheeks to be honest, but props for the rest of the list specifically OC.

If I had to list 5 underappreciated mcs it would be

Aceyalone
Gift of Gab (Blackalicious)
Del Tha Funkee Homosapien
One Be Lo (Binary Star)
POS

Cause he has Beastie Boys and Chuck D on it instead of guys like Jay, Eminem etc. like you said. I personally like it, as it shows he actually thinks for himself and isn't just a carbon copy of everybody else's Big, Pac, you get the gist.

But it makes no sense.

It's like asking me who my favourite QB is, and if I say it's Brett Favre ahead of guys like Tom Brady, am I living in the past? Or if you say who my favourite footballer is and I say it's Maradona ahead of guys like Cristiano Ronaldo, am I living in the past?

No, it's simply because those guys are my favourite.

It's such a stupid pathetic argument.
