This is the long anticipated single everybody was hyping up on SL?

I don't know what to think either honestly.

Edit for the fuck of it.

Boring as hell I didn't even finish it. I love Cole but cmon. And that was the Kanye sample he was hyping?!?! It's so clear it's from Ye, he just jacked it. No creativity. Kanye's Workout >>>> Cole's, no debate. He should have saved Who Dat for his album, this trash will flop. It isn't even a good radio song :facepalm

Idk, he has plenty of time to drop a better track. He'll need to, I doubt he'll even top 100 k with this type of ish. He even poorly imitated kanye'c overemphasis of syllables :facepalm

You can't be serious. Who Dat is a better radio song than this?

I highly question that.

J. Cole will have probably about 1 or 2 good first singles in his career. His loyal fanbase will make sure this lands on the chart, but doubt it will stay there.

Glad this is out of the way, and now we wait for the real J.Cole music from his album.

Never listened to J. Cole properly (apart from like a bit of a track or two, but found him a bit boring personally) - so, I will go and checkout his mixtapes before forming a true opinion.

But, having just listened to this song, no matter how good he supposedly can be... this certainly doesn't prove it. This is generic trash that even B-Rappers could write in their sleep.

Not sure what to think about this to be honest...

I thought Cole did a good job on the beat and hook. Obviously it's weak lyrically and his flow was pretty choppy in parts.... But I understand why Cole released this, I just hope that this blows up so we can get the rest of the album. I'm torn because I want to spread this, but I also don't want people to form an opinion of Cole off of it.

I promise you this isn't any indication of how it will sound.

EDIT:

There's hope

Cole explains that his as-of-yet untitled release is emotionally centered and "really heavy." He added that while the project fairly deep, there is a good balance between serious topics and more fun moments.

"[The album is] really heavy - heavy in a good way," he explained. "At first it hit a point where I was a little nervous; I thought it would be too emotional. But it ended up balancing really well, with fun and humor, and then some aggression, and then the really emotional-type of songs that I'm really good for. I feel like it's a really complete album."
