Jada, Banks & Deck had their moments but they could have done way more indeed.

Cool G, AZ, Kurupt, Styles, Sticky, Pharoahe, Elzhi, etc. etc... Damn I could make such big list with rappers that never hit as hard as they deserve.

I don't know about Kid Twist, but someone like diz who can freestyle for an unlimited amount of time certainly would.

Battle rapping has evolved so much, it's not even done to a beat anymore. Eminem struggled to think of rhymes off the top of his head... People like Justice, Thesaurus, Illmaculate would most likely beat Eminem. Eminem used pre-written punchlines, but these guys made relevant insults up off the top of their heads and it takes much more skill to do that (and it's why Eminem lost to juice)

This is great battle rapping:

Also Bishop Lamont.

Oh, and I really like some B.o.B. But "classics"? lol.

This. Plus i feel some emcees mentioned by people did live to potential as a artist, just didn't get the recognition, although Inspectah Deck is probably the best example.

I was only saying that Eminem was a great battle rapper bro, calm down. Battle rap is different now he wouldn't mix in with it of course but you can't deny he was pretty legit back in the day.

Vordul Mega, although it's really more of a rapper hitting his peak early on and completely falling off rather than not living up to his full potential. And at his peak (which was like one album, and he shared that with a vastly inferior mc, lol) he was an insane lyricist, probably the most insane I had the pleasure of listening to. He tread the line between being abstract ghetto poetry yet wasn't obtuse and one can easily parse meaning from his lyrics. His wordplay was amazing, and his lyrics were thematic and layered, backed by banging beats which were the perfect backdrop to his rhymes. A rapper with as much talent as him should have been running the underground but he got crap beats after this album and his flow got really fucking boring and monotonous, also he became a street bum. :'( Shame, he coulda been one of hip hop's poet laureates.

So, ya'll think TheJokerr fits the bill?

If I'm correct, all he does is release albums full of singing and minimal rapping under the joker moniker and starts beefs with everyone

when reality the guy is a SICK rapper and should just drop the act and make a hip-hop album

I don't see the potential at all in The Jokerr to be anything aside from a Strange Music level rapper at the absolute most. Between the gimmick, terrible entitled personality, and shitty rap-voice I'm not surprised he's gone absolutely nowhere.

A good technical ability doesn't make you a good rapper.

Hopsin. Gazing was solid and Raw is fucking amazing so it sucks seeing him put out some Tech N9ne/Recovery Eminem bitingass album like Knock Madness. Really hope he drops the screaming and the awkward forced lyricism. Part of me wants to say B.o.B but I feel like all three of his albums are c̶l̶a̶s̶s̶i̶c̶s̶ very good
