technology has helped us move forward in the rap game. nowadays you have your pacs, biggies, ems, snoops, dres, ice cubes, the games, 50s, lil waynes, all on the internet.

rap isnt going downhill its going up. and itll keep going up as long as our technology gets better. people think the 90s were so great because people were being shown all these rappers like big l, pac, biggie, raekwon, rakim. they were the mainstream. but with this technology a mainstream rap genre isnt even required. a simple google search will show you thousands of rappers that are just as good as the ones from the "golden era".
