lyrics from the recently released song “Jodeci Freestyle” from hip hop artists Drake and J.Cole have many in the autism community up in arms. The song, which was released last month and is now getting airplay, contains the following lyric by J. Cole: “I’m artistic, you n----s is autistic, retarded."

These lyrics are offensive and perpetuate negative stereotypes. There are many inspiring individuals with autism and other disabilities who have achieved great success across a variety of artforms, including music. We encourage J. Cole to recognize their talents and learn from the positive example they have set for all of us.

My older brother has Asperges - for those of you who don't know a "sub genre" of Autism - he looks normal, is highly intelligent, and probably has better social skills than me, because of his bluntness, however he is quite insecure about wanting to fit in.
Also, along with his massive ego and occasional sadistic tendencies he is fucking huge, and I seriously doubt that most grown men could fight him - personal experience.

That's not true. I have worked with autistic people and I know a lot of people around me who have autism/Asperger's. They are one of the brightest people I know once you get to know them better. They don't have social skills, but that doesn't mean they aren't smart.
People who have good emotional skills have that to fall back on while autistic people only have their intelligence that's why they usually don't succeed because unfortunately just being bright doesn't pay your bills. Not saying all autistic people are smart. There are dumb autistic people.

Your post is pretty much right, except I dunno if you saw my post, having grown up with someone in my house who has Asperges he actually has remarkable social skills however I lot of the time shit is superficial.
Plus, he's psychotic so it doesn't go well if you anger him.
It's interesting, dude seems animalistic when he's angry, which separates him processing emotions from "other people".

I knew an autistic kid at my school who was crazy good at maths, the smartest in the school and another kid who was really good at drawing. Seems like there's something to that theory to me.
