Never not delivering solid interviews, Al Lindstrom sat down with the President of TDE, Punch, to get his thoughts on all the recent events surrounding rap’s biggest crew. Top Dawg’s top dog spoke on the continued support they get from Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar’s “King of New York” claim (“I think he’s the King of Hip-Hop,” he answered) and gave a detailed analogy of ScHoolboy Q’s upcoming album, Oxymoron:

"Anything we need, Dr Dre will make sure we've got it."

"I like to compare ['Oxymoron' versus 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'] to ‘All Eyez On Me’ verses ‘Life After Death’; how ‘Life After Death’ was sown together, it was very cohesive, when ‘All Eyez On Me’ was just crazy record after crazy record."

Punch later discussed how he discovered SZA and what it was about her music that stood out to him. But one artist TDE didn’t quite manage to get was Chance The Rapper, even though Dave Free (another of the label’s heads) was in talks with the rising Chicago star. Nothing personal, though; Chance recently told Rolling Stone that he doesn’t want to sign to any label because it’s a “dead industry.”

Watch the interview after the jump…

Good actually... but they've definitely been slowing Q down for the last couple of months or so.
