50 Cent has managed to escape jail time and has been sentenced to three years probation, 30 days of community service, counseling and a damage fee of more than $7,000 after a disagreement with Daphne Joy, the mother of one of his children.

TMZ reports that Curtis Jackson struck a plea deal after being charged with five criminal counts of domestic violence. During a hearing in August he plead not guilty but today he agreed to plea no contest to one count of vandalism. If convicted on all charges, he would have faced up to $46,000 in fines and five years in prison.

Smart move by Fif? I think the answer is a pretty obvious one.

50 Cent‘s lawyer, Scott Leemon, addressed the charges:

“Curtis Jackson denies these allegations as made against him,” the lawyer said in a letter that appeared on CNN. ”It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest. We have been in contact with the L.A. City Attorney’s Office and are currently conducting our own investigation into these allegations. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not be commenting any further at this time.”
