Dr. Dre And Jimmy Iovine To Launch ‘Beats Music’ App In 2014

Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to launch Beats Music with the hopes of "helping people re-discover the magic in the experience of listening to music."

Producer/entrepreneur Dr. Dre plans on taking Beats Electronics, which he founded alongside Jimmy Iovine, one step further next year with the introduction of Beats Music. According to AllHipHop.com, Beats Music will serve as a new addition to the music streaming market and will serve as a partnership between Dre and Nine Inch Nail’s Trent Reznor.

As opposed to other music streaming services, Beats Music will seek to introduce users to new music by “helping people re-discover the magic in the experience of listening to music.”

Beats Music, which was previously known as Daisy, was first announced at the top of this year and will reportedly allow paying customers to stream up to 12 million songs.

“Right now, these things are all utilities. It's give me your credit card, here's 12 million songs, good luck," said Jimmy Iovine in January. "We have an entire generation that was brought up on sound being inferior, and sound is the only conduit for emotion that we have. We've had ten very bad years in the audio industry. So we want the best possible quality, and it will have global scale. So it will be a balance of those things."

Beats Music is expected to launch in January. Those interested in joining the music streaming service when it launches next year can pre-register at BeatsMusic.com.

In September of this year, Beats Electronics received a $500 million investment from the Carlyle Group while Beats Music reportedly received a $60 million investment in March from Access Industries and several private investors.

In addition to Dr. Dre’s work with Beats Electronics, which helped the producer secure a spot on Forbes’ Cash Kings 2013 list, both he and Iovine donated $70 million to the University of Southern California this year to help in the creation of the Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.]

Even if it came out, Fans will dislike it and trash it, And think they should of gotten more because of the years they had to wait for it, That is what Dre fears and that is likely to happen, In my own mind, I think it'll come out when Dre puts his career aside and hangs up the boot or dies.
