I never listen to it, overplayed profoundly and it's just... I can never listen to that shit now.

But if you say 'best' or 'greatest'... to me that's asking what does the most things well... and "Lose Yourself" is the best and greatest individual combination of everything I've ever heard in a hip-hop song; the lyrics, the flow, the delivery, the concept, the production, the hook...

It's broadly applicable and incredibly melodic, catchy and musical without compromising ANY musical or lyrical element. It's as intelligent as it is catchy. And that alone is quite the accomplishment which is rarely seen in any genre let alone hip-hop.

It's a pretty timeless song and Em was pretty clever with his themes and how he wrote about things to be specific yet thematically quite broad so that the song can outlive him and the exact source of the story and so that it transcends genre and is a symbolic song for performance ambition.

I think you can apply that song to any area of life where you're feeling unsure of yourself or doubting yourself or have a desire to be something but are nervous, or whatever... I think that's a really important theme and 'feeling' to capture and inspire upon, and he did it brilliantly. It's one of the most valid themes and everything about the song musically and lyrically is amazing.

the chorus on this song is crazy as fuck & Pac second verse might be one of his best verses ever. Kind of sucks pac and scarface didn't collab more because they had a great chemistry.
