Come on, mononym. You gave MMLP2 a 6.8, I can't take you serious if you bash the album after that.

Anyway, good list. Pure Heroine, Because the Internet, My Name Is My Name are great albums, yeah.

Didn't you like Wolf?

Awesome bro, I really respect that you're on top of your game when it comes to new music and all. Plus you study it well, I am more of a type to listen to a few albums like real hard, but then the rest is just a listen or 2 at most. So yeah, big ups!

Thank u fam :) 'studying' mite be an exaggeration haha I don't wanna overanalyze my listening experience because it's nothing more than listening, but I gave everything a 2nd and 3rd in different scenes/places and from there they either carry on or get dropped.. My man doe.. what are your bumping the most this year m8?

Haha, that's what up man. Well, I was late with GKMC so that was in heavy rotation back in the spring, then lately I've been listening to Blu a lot, especially Below The Heavens (mad late on that one too, haha), and also DMX's first one plus I liked MMLP2 quite a lot as well. Of course, Lupe/Mos/Nas are always in rotation and as I said, some albums I play a few times. This year I got around listening to:

Phonte - Charity Starts At Home
RA The Rugged Man - Legends Never Die
Little Brother - The Minstrel Show
Dilated Peoples - Expansion Team
Brother Ali - Shadows On The Sun
Mobb Deep - Hell On Earth
OutKast - Aquemini
Q-Tip - The Renaissance
Game - Doctor's Advocate
Dead Prez - Let's Get Free

And I'm probably forgetting some other ones but these were more notable :) Obviously, it wasn't a first listen for some but with more attention I guess.

There's just too much dope hiphop :(

Yeah man, and fortunately or not, I guess it's best to rely on the most critically acclaimed / talked about ish, downloading that, giving it a listen or 2, and then the best ones end up in heavier rotation. I know that there a lot of hidden gems, but it's most likely to find some dope this way, for me at least. It's good to have forums like this, KTT, Facebook groups, Hip-Hop blogs/sites, it all helps.

Outside that, you have your favorite artists with their old ish or upcoming projects that you wait on, random albums that you've loved before and ready to revisit, and finally there's the odd random piece of music that you come across and happen to love.

Another good thing with me is when I'm into an artist I like to check the whole picture, so I go through interviews, music videos, live shows, movie cameos/roles, and get kick out of that too.

Nice I been trying to hop on the dead prez train lately since I never gave em a focused completely attended listen so I def hear what u're saying with the attention thing, this year I revisited a shitload of great albums that I didn't get because I didn't give them much attention and pretty much a half assed listen, Below the Heavens is the most prominent here lel, i feel like i just learned how to listen to music like late 2012 or early 2013 thx to that and the conversation we had on ktt a while back

Haha, word to that man! Stay on your smartness :b:
