What about the equipment invented to produce hip-hop music? Was that all invented and pioneered by black people too... ? If not then surely that makes hip-hop part white as hip-hop couldn't exist without it.

Or what about the plethora of white-artist records initially sampled, mixed, flipped and to this day utilized to have created endless hip-hop classics?

I understand the reasoning behind black bitterness in America and need to try and forge an identity and hold on to culture... but this shit is pathetic. Nothing is anybody's. It's just music; and it's a huge and complex combination of evolution and addition from a million different angles, obvious and not so obvious influences; black, white, global - historic, present day, silliness, comedy, various aspects of culture feeding in to hip-hop - making it what it is... again of all origins, and same goes for any genre of music, any item of clothing or any art ever created ever.

That's the name of the genre

Of course that if you say hip hop or rap they will understand, but we really use that term, which in the US would be racist and marginalizer (kanye influence)

For instance, we say "that DJ plays black (music omited)" when refering to a DJ that plays hip hop (kinda rare tbh*)

*When they do, most of them keep playing the same 20-30 tracks at every club they go to
Basically, every rap song that somehow gets known around here (and it's a banger) makes that list
