Guarantees was one of those tracks for me. Didn't realize how good it was at first because of how slow it was but it's one of the goat songs. It's like the perfect example of why slug is as good as he is, incredible lyricism.

I think Guarantees rivals Yesterday tbh. Me and In Her Music Box the same level lyricism as well.

Fuck, that whole album is gold man.

Painting is still low-key the best lyricism on the album, yesterday's subject matter is just powerful enough to overcome it.

Funny I immediately gravitated towards guarantees and puppets right away, and yeah paintings hook is fantastic. I'll do dedication 2 later.

Forgot about Painting's lyricism.

Forest Whitaker is a goat Brother Ali song m8. Surprised you hadn't listened to Shadow's In The Sun. Def his next best after Undisputed Truth.

I just recently really loved yesterday and yeah I've been payin attention to the lyrics I just didn't find it as sonically interesting as them at the time lol. It's really hard to compare those songs...

Best track off game theory tho?

Well I had listened to it lol just not as in depth as I've been listening to music recently in order to rate it. And it's been awhile. Agree about The Undisputed Truth being his best though. Walking Away is the goat Ali song imo

I think Painting, Me, Guarantees, Yesterday and The Waitress could all be my favorite depending on how I'm feeling atm

The Clock With No Hands is my favorite…but I'll know you'll say how stereotypical of me that is because it's exactly the type of song I like. I also really really like Baby though.

Nah, that was my first favorite but it changes so often. I went a while where I rly loved can't stop this, that dilla beat is A+ and the hook is so soulful, than I went to false media because I thought that was the most lyrical song in the album (paralleling a street thug to George bush). Now it's probably don't feel right, it's got the perfect blend of lyricis
, energy, and dat hook is great as well as the beat. Baby is way catchier than it should be tho

Yeah Baby is incredibly catchy but it's also lyrically great. It hits on all cylinders. Don't Feel Right is also contender for one of my favorites.

Also just realized I have Shoulda Known at 9/10 which is weird because I've thought it was 10 for awhile…That song is so good too, I've gonna have to listen to Lemons again :zipped:

I don't like US as much as his other albums either even though it still has some great songs, Tight Rope in particular.

23|No Other (feat. Juelz Santana)|10/10
24|Outta Here|0:53
25|Georgia...Bush|8/10

Final Rating? (1-10)
8.28; I didn't rate the skits or interludes where he just talks but they fit the mixtape perfect & gave it personality, he had such a sense self of awareness and his blase attitude in them rly adds to the overall aesthetic.

Did the album meet your expectations?
Yeah, for the most part. Classic wayne, even if it's a bit overly long and could be trimmed.

Rate the album's production (1-10)
7.5, alright beats rly southern, but he gets much better beats in Da Drought 3.

Rate the lyrical performance by (insert Rapper/Group) (1-10)
8-8.5, doesn't really say anything profound but the amount of punchlines he drops per song is impressive. They're pretty much hit or miss but when he gets it right, it works.

Rate the microphone/vocal performance (Flow, Delivery, Mic Presence, etc.) (1-10)
9-9.5, Weezy in his prime was one of a kind. He had such an it factor to him that few mcs can lay claim to, it goes beyond personality or delivery and flow, which he easily excels at in all three. He was so unique and the only mcs I can think off that have his "it" factor are Three Stacks & Kendrick.

Who was your favorite guest on the album?
Curren$y easily

Favorite track?
Spitter, he demolished that beat (and honestly I think he did better than biggie). Probably his most focused song where he gets everything right, and there's no wasted bars. Perfect flow & lines

Favorite beat?
Ridin Wit The Ak
