i thought the song was fantastic but i agree with the critics that it was mixed poorly and the beat is too loud although I also agree with the critics that the problem would be solved with Ali mixing since he's basically a god. I can't say if they have any inclination for the new albums cause Kendrick mixes so many styles. We won't really know until a single comes although the quality of the verses does make me feel better. No shouting.

Dude went ham!!!

There was nothing impressive about that song. He just bit R.A.'s already boring flow and adding nothing to it except for when he went fast at the end but that part sucked ass anyway because of how lifeless it is. The speed of the flow does not make it good or bad, it's all about the melody within the flow and the catchiness. His voice was super bland and the lyrics were generic and uninteresting lyrics you would expect from someone submitting their songs to an online contest. Name dropping KRS-1 and Rakim aren't really impressive considering they're two of the most well known rappers ever. Nothing about the song was anything but unimpressive.

Dudes sixteen, pretty damn impressive in my books, a lot of time for growth as well. To say he's not talented would be a lie and you know it bruh

Pretty good.. getting real tired of the southern trap style production trend though

Thread bump

Anyways was gonna make a thread but what's ya'll thoughts on Prime Weezy 04-07, I actually really like him and find him probably the most entertaining rapper to listen to for some reason even if there are other rappers who I think are better. His charisma, delivery, and flow are like legit 10/10 the only weak link are his lyrics and I don't even mind a lot of his lame puns, plus he has some really nice lines like Dipset (Da Drought 3) and Walk it Out (not gonna quote it just listen to them) but he's just straight FUN to listen to like even if a lot of his lines aren't that gud he had a certain sense of self awareness where he knew the line was wack (he laughs throughout the entirety of DD3 for chrissake) and you just get a feeling like he's elbowing you in the ribs. When he does murder though, his flow and delivery is second to none and he can "kill" songs. He's also a really great hook maker, also please don't turn this into a WOW WAYNE SUCKS, YOU SUCK, (I will shit on you) but I'd be more than happy to actually discuss this without turning this into some wow ur taste is shit thing.

Any controversial list of rappers who Lil wayne is better than

Kanye West
Jay z
Freddie Gibbs (actually pretty close might be even tbh)
Kendrick Lamar
Roc Marciano
Joe Budden
T.I.
Biggie
Pusha T
Drake (by quite a bit)
lupe fiasco
Those two dudes from binary star
Gift of Gab
Big Pun
Elzhi
and pretty much most other rappers u'd level at me

rappers better or equal to him
Black Thought
MF DOOM
Ghostface Killah
Danny Brown
Vordul Mega (in Cold Vein)
Eminem
Nas (maybe)
Kool G rap
Edan (maybe)
Camron (maybe)

very opinionated list but yeah I'm bored

I think kanye does have better beats and does potentially have better albums but I think wayne is a better pure rapper, I find Jay z and Biggie somewhat overrated, and the rest isn't that controversial tbh.

Lol, I never said I find him terrible or even close to mediocre. But I just never loved Ready to die the way most people do and pretty much prefer LAD over it (even if it's marred with some straight horrid tracks), he has great storytelling skills but idk. Like I said in the other thread Live and let die is my ready to die, I do think Biggie's good, and he had the potential to be as goat as a lot of people say he is (just like Lifestylez coulda been a 10/10 horrocore classic if Big L wasn't pushed to make something more radio friendly) but R2D didn't that age that well for me. I also never did love Enter the wu and prefer most first wave wu solos over it and definitely prefer Wu forever over it.
