I remember really disliking the first Run the Jewels project a lot when I first heard it. Then I took a bit of time away from it and when I listened again I really liked it, and then downloaded RAP Music and all of El-Ps solo shit.

Not sure what changed in the few months between first and second listen, but I love it now lmao.

Pledge II is just as good if not better than Pl3dge and really good. I like Killer Mike more but I do agree El-P's discog is stronger with Killer Mike having a shitty double album in there

Bumped this the other day, Dat fucking production doe. Would rate it better than the first

I ended up giving it a 4 but fuck it's a really low four and I'm still tempted to go give it a 3.5. Only reason I gave it a 4 is because I can really objectively see the skill in the album but it really just doesn't connect with me on any level. It's so weird because I loved the last one, I love killer mike and I love el-p, but this project just seems so empty and artificial it doesn't elicit any emotions from me at all. The first one had that x-factor (ex: the passion in killer mikes voice on a Christmas fucking miracle) but that's gone from this album. Even the production falls pretty flat and is missing a lot of the umph that el-p projects usually have. Pretty disappointed but it's still solid.
