I haven't listened to his other songs yet

What album should I start with?

GKMC & S80

S80 first then GKMC though

I gave them a listen a few days ago and I really enjoyed what I heard.
With that being said, I feel like "i" is better than anything he has done so far, its very refreshing musically whereas gkmc & s80 are just hip hop-rap songs.

Well, that's an... interesting opinion.

well I kinda see where you're coming from.

From a rapping perspective he has way better songs than that but artistically and musically, this song is definitely one of his best. I also find his style more refined, emotional, and powerful on that song but its definitely more experimental (Funky & soul/jazz influenced production)

I'd love kendrick to drop an album full of hiphop/jazz-soul fusion songs

No we don't, at least not yet. They'll drop the music video if it starts to fall off the charts a little.
It only debuted on the charts last week and It's already a bigger hit than Swimming Pools here in Australia and in some European countries. :coffee:

Finally got to listen to the song today. From the first couple of listens, I love the production of this song, definitely not what I would have thought of for Kendricks first single but it is terrific in my opinion. Lyrically he's not at the top of his game on this single but its not too far off, about an 8, and believe he rode the beat extremely well. Ultimately I like this song and although it does not raise my expectations for his next album, he didn't hurt it and still has me expecting a classic.

still don't get the hype :-k the song had solid production but it wasn't anything worth replaying for me. then again i have a bizarre musical taste apparently.

Holy shit you're Australian. That's dope.

And yeah I heard this on a top 40 radio station (KIIS in Sydney) the other day.

This song is a mediocre pile of dross, why is this getting played all the time in the radio. I thought Drake was the only rapper whose mediocre songs they play on the radio 24/7.
