Postby Jaba » Sep 28th, '14, 02:32

This guy is gnna be one of my favs rappers I can tell. Anyone have any suggestions on how I should listen tot his music? What albums I should? or should I just go in order?

Also, planning on buying the cd illmatic tomorrow. Should I get the original or the 20 year anniversary one? Probs only gonna buy one copy so which one should I get?

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

The 20th Anniversary packaging is really cool, really love digipak's for some reason. Also it has remixed tracks on the bonus disc and a song from the illmatic sessions which was previously unofficially released.

Distant Relatives. Nas collaboration album with Damien Marley. Its a must you listen to it... contemporary music, great hooks, awesome chemistry between the two and fresh content.

Buy the original, the remastered version is louder but it doesn't sound as special so to say. Plus, you want to have it with the original cover.

As for which albums to check out, go on with It Was Written, then Lost Tapes, Stillmatic, Hip-Hop Is Dead and Life Is Good. After that you can revisit God's Son and Untitled. Distant Relatives is dope too, Street's Disciple is meh, I Am has plenty of great songs on it, so it's definitely worth it, and Nastradamus, better don't.
