As of today, what is your AOTY?

Postby Raul » Oct 9th, '14, 15:18

I'm hyped for Shady XV, Kendrick's album and Kanye's album, but, as of now, my AOTY would be "You're Dead!" by Flying Lotus.

Discuss and post your AOTY :y:

There's still not much to choose of...
But for now I would probably say Oxymoron & Strangeulation.
I'm hyped for Shady compilation too, but that hype dying slowly all the time 'cause of those Shady Records "secrets".
Also cant wait for PRhyme.
And I think Yeezy & K Dot albums are not coming out this year.

Being that this was posted in the Hip-Hop Domain, I'm sure OP is referring to hip-hop albums.... if it's any genre, there are a ton of albums that have come out this year that are much better than the hip-hop releases I posted.
what other genres are you involved in?

Pinata.

This has honestly been the worst year for Hip-Hop in recent memory. Looks like the fourth quarter might save it, but wow.

It's been a pretty mundane year for music in general....

While I somewhat agree, depends on what you are into. St. Vincent and You're Dead! are great albums. Plenty of good art pop and experimental albums out there.

Is Rittz's album any good?

Johnny Valiant and White Jesus were great but forgettable for me, haven't bothered checking this new one out but if its better than those two than yeah, I'll check it out :y:
