I agree with Eli.

It doesnt quite cut it that he has quotables. Hes a rapper, not a poet.

Say what you want about his skills but he IS overrated. Actually, he is the defenition of overrated.
He gives you this look while performing that he is THE boss but he just comes of as misplaced. Like, hiphop needs its icons throughout different time eras and Jay Z was the only one up for grabs at the time.

This is my oppinion and you shouldnt feel the need to put me in my place.

Ughh how ignorant to pick out one of my arguments and pick it apart.

Someone based his importance in hiphop on his qoutables which leads me to thinking [insert favorite philosopher] could be a goat rapper

What do you feel hes missing? He has charisma, unique flows, a distinct sound. He has a lot of really strong verses. Or do you disagree that he has any of that?

No quotables alone don't make you great, but he has some great entire verses as well.
" Life can change your directions, even when you ain't planned it
All you can do it handle it, worst thing you can do is panic
Use it to your advantage, avoid insanity manage
To conquer, every obstacle, make impossible possible
Even when winning illogical, losing is still far from optional.." -T.I.
