Basketball fans are eagerly anticipating the kick-off of the 2014-2015 NBA season at the end of the month, and today it’s been revealed that Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Ent. have earned themselves a big win before the games even get under way.
The Compton, CA. emcee’s latest single, “i,” will be featured in a series of promotional videos by Turner Sports that are set to air throughout the beginning of the NBA season. The videos will air on multiple stations and outlets, including TNT, NBA TV, and nba.com. The campaign will fuse together original footage of Kendrick performing, as well as shots of LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan and more in action on the court. A 30-second version of the spot, which you can watch here, debuted last TNT Friday Night last week.
On October 30, the season’s first Thursday night doubleheader will air on TNT featuring the Cleveland Cavaliers hosting the New York Knicks, and the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder. In celebration of LeBron James’ return to Cleveland, Turner Sports has organized the NBA on TNT Opening Week Concert presented by Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The October 3o concert will feature a performance by Kendrick Lamar outside of Cleveland’s Quicken Loans arena, with portions of the rapper’s set televised before tip-off.
