really jay-z and has are so similar talent wise that it's a toss up. I'm at a point where I prefer Jay-Z because I'm more impressed with his charisma and personality and able to translate his rapping skills into great music whereas Nas is just a really good rapper but if I put on the Lost Tapes or something I might start to change my mind. Part of what hurts Nas is that he got replicated so much. My friend always says he doesn't like Nas cause he sounds like every other rapper but it's really every other rapper sounds like Nas. He's like the Seinfeld of rap because really he was completely original. But yeah I think technical skill is a lot easier to master (your old droog) than charisma and personality so Jay-Z is more interesting and Nas tapes with wack beats are incredibly hard to listen to all the way through.

When you compare their discographies their pretty much equal but I think Jay might get an edge. I haven't finished going through both of them all the way through yet but in regards to their classics I think

Illmatic > Jay's 3 > It Was Written & The Lost Tapes

so yeah idk. Also I might be the only person who loves Jay-Z's recent work and think he killed 2014 with the Devil is a Lie, Seen It All and We Made It. Hope he keeps up the quality in his next album.
You think your personal attacks make up for what you lack?

Toss up for me, maybe as I listen to more Nas it will become more definitive for me. I feel Nas has the stronger lyricism, but I feel Jay z has more interesting/varied flows and a lot of charisma. The dude knows how to make fun songs but still have good lyrics.

I feel non rap fans would be able to appreciate Jay z more than they would Nas. Both of them are phenomenal though. It's hard to say.

Beat is good, song sucks.

The beat is amazing and so is the song. Jay's verse is amazing.
