2001 - Dr. Dre

Postby Jaba » Nov 10th, '14, 00:59

I have never really heard this album as a whole. I wanted to know, how do you guys like it? Is it a hip hop classic/must have? Is it a 10/10 album? Tell me about it.

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

its a very good album, sonically cohesive and a good listen while riding in a car or bumping on any good sound system... im unsure of the popular opinion but id say its classic worthy, everyone knows chronic 2001 bby dam.

u need to listen to it as a whole, not just forgot bout dre etc. fuck dat

10/10
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

I only like the singles

I thought Dre's contribution was better on Doggystyle

edit: oh wait, he only put his name on them Daz's beats

In the case of the original Chronic, listen until track 9 and turn it off.

Niggaz who think the entirety of those 2 albums are good gotta be on some dust fam.

Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle though? Good all the way through, listen to that.

I agree with almost all of that even though id say stick with 2001 longer than that

The first time I heard it once It got to track 13, 14, 15 etc. I was like DRE WHAT.

I mean that last track is absolutely a heart-felt good song...perhaps it should of been track 13 and done.

Menzo on dust!

yeah. The Message is top 3 on that album imo.

Just listen to Doggystyle.
