both are contious rappers discusing complex political issues and streetknowledge
Rakim:If Rakim walked in today i would bow to him and wouldnt even stop to think about
Though he is a lyrical genious his muzik is often repetitive and albums have songs from previous albums and he doesnt have enough albums
not that it would matter to me how many albums he makes but i been waiting for a new album from him for a long time
Nas:Master flow and complex lyrics although he could neva top rakims skills he has been down with the game for a long time and i have lots of hopes for his new album, in my opinion he is on of the only ones who can bring Hip Hop back to us
He has quite a few albums but lacks consistancy in them , like for example if u compare Stillmatic to Nastradamus or I am...
U compare....
Rakim- Microphone Fiend
- Code: Select all
I was a fiend before I became a teen
I melted microphone instead of cones of ice cream
Music orientated so when hip-hop was originated
Fitted like pieces of puzzles, complicated
'Cause I grabbed the mic and try to say, ' Yes y'all!'
They tried to take it, and say that I'm too small
Cool, 'Cause I don't get upset
I kick a hole in the speaker, pull the plug, then I jet
Nas- Halftime
- Code: Select all
When I was young, I was a fan of the Jackson 5
I drop jewels, wear jewels hope to never run it
Wit more kicks than a baby in a mother's stomach
Nasty Nas has to rise, kid, surprise
This is exercise til the microphone dies
Back in '83, I was an MC sparking
But I was too scared to grab the mic's in the park and
Kick my little raps cuz I thought niggaz wouldn't understand
And now in every jam I'm the fucking man
