yo, i just found out a new topic to talk about. When rappers work hard and long to make a album instead of buyin it we download the hottest song on the cd on our mp3s. Now iv done it no lie. But even if the albulms wack if you tryin to pursue the same shit that they trin to do then why be so cheap! go and buy the cd! Cuz i know if i was makin records and workin my ass off i wouldnt want no people to download my junk. i would want em to buy it! And the computer that i'm usin right now called that shit up. For example, a ringtone on a legal website costs 3.99 overall around the world. a song cost .99 cent but you dont even get to here the whole fucking son on the ringtone! But yet the ringtone cost more then the song!?? Thats y rappers aint makin as much as they should. especially since basically all the rappers that be sellin the cds are better than us. They been done all the practisin. THey been doin they battles and junk. feel me. show your opinion on what i just said.
Windows tintied on my ride when i drive in it
so when i rob a bank, run and just dive in it
so i'll be disquised in it
and if anybody identifies the guy get it
i'll hide for five minutes
come back, shoot the eye witness
fire at the private eye hired to pry in my bussines
Die b*tches, bastards, brats, pets
this puppy's lucky i aint blast his *ss yet

I'm a CRIMINAL

Best Eminem song ever!

Well artists have the option to pull their songs form iTunes or wherever if they don't want it happening. So if they choose to let a few hundred thousand people download their album for $4-$5 less than in stores they still make a profit to some degree, along with what they earn from ringtones, sales of the singles, etc. and accept any losses. I'm assuming of course as i have no idea how the industry actually works.

Also, with the internet, album leaks spread around more people can steal it faster.

i agree with ice axe on this one, like with metallica, when they sued napster. of course, even metallica eventually gave in to itunes

Well alot of artists look past the downloading, like Talib Kweli said, he doesn't stress about it anymore, cuz he makes his money on the road doing shows and shit. Sometimes I feel bad about downloading album leaks and advances, witch is why I now try to download vinyl singles, mixtapes, and unreleased albums only. Mostly every thing else I buy.
