Rakim's Line...

Postby mcZu » Jul 24th, '08, 13:17

Rakim once said:
''' This is the R A to the K I M, if I wasn't why would I say I am''.

Well I guess you all find this line kinda familiar...
'Cause Eminem used this to and made it in a chorus :
'' I'm what I say I'm, if I wasn't why would I say I'm''.

Em isn't the only who used it...
Nas used the same line to..:'
' This is the N A to the S I R, if I wasn't then I've must been Escobar''.

Nas's line looks almost the same as Rakim's line, Eminem's line is slightly different..
Rakim laid the foundation for most of the rap we hear nowadays, Rakim was one of the first that used a flow wich resembles a instrument ( smooth flow, flowing on the beat ), and he was the first to use complex lyrics ( methaphors, similes, multie's etc.. )
If Nas and Eminem used this line, then perhaps there are other rappers who used it too...
Does anyone know who used this line to, and in wich song....?

That aint the same, not even near the way Rakim, Nas or Eminem wrote their lines....

Yeah it is, I only wanted to know if other artist's (emcee's ), used a similair line...

That's all, I know they used it as a way to show they appreciate Rakim...
I only wanted to know how many emcee's actually show some love for Rakim...

Dunno how anyone missed Em using Ra's flow in I'm Back

My Melody:

I take 7 MC's put em in a line
And add 7 more brothas who think they can rhyme
Well, it'll take 7 more before I go for mine
And that's 21 MC's ate up at the same time

I'm Back:

I take seven (kids) from (Columbine), stand 'em all in line
Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine
a Mack-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine
and that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time
Damn right I like the live, cause I went from negative to positive - Biggie (Juicy)

I'm the type to snap in heaven with a mack 11 & rape Christ! - Big L

Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it? - Jay-Z (Renegade)

I'll never have dinner with the president! - Ice Cube to Eazy-E (No Vaseline)

I just listend to those songs, and yes he does.
Eminem's flow resembles Rakim's...
Only diference is the amount of syllables used, Em used a bit more then Ra..
