The Message

I was just goin thru some of "Best rap songs" lists and I noticed this. 90% of them says that the best rap song ever is The Message from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five. I just wanna know what do you guys think of it. I simply think that - it sucks...

I think its because it was from the beginning of rap.

If anyone sounded like that, had lyrics like that, looked like that, and did everything else like flash did with this song TODAY, they would get laughed at. It's just the whole pioneer thing I guess, and the song is quoted sometimes in popular culture so it has something going for it

I love this song. Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five ruled. I think it might have been one of the first conscious rap songs to have made an impact.
