Melatonin Magik is Superb

I'll be honest, I have a personal dislike for Canibus so went into the new album with some personal bias but I can't deny his skill and Melatonin Magik is a fucking good album.

And nothing to do with his beef with Em, I just had / have some dislike / disagreement with some philosophies on life, also some opinions on hip-hop on people-handling in general.

But nearly every track on this album is solid and enjoyable. I think maybe... One track I didn't like. But overall, it's near a classic hip-hop album man. Fire from start to finish.

I'm not a Canibus fan, personally. He doesn't really do my type of stuff, from what I've heard of him. He seems to be one of those guys that tries his best to pump his lyrics full of complex words. There's nothing wrong with that per se, but he comes off disingenuous to me, personally.

I've never got into Canibus, cus of that voice. Litterally, it just puts me off immediately. Which is kinda stupid on my part but whatever.

I'm gunna have to download this album and see what all the fuss is about.

Yeah I agree. I've never really been attracted to his complex rhyming because it just feels like he's putting too much effort to sound lyrical. It doesn't only happen with Canibus but with other rappers too.

i would agree with what you guys are saying to an extent about trying to be too complex with his lyrics if the only albums he released were mic club and rip the jacker.

Maybe he shouldn't use his own "complex" vocabulary because none of it is actually deep philosophical scientific lyrical speech it is just "complex" vocabulary or as you put it big words. I think the problem is you wont allow youself to like it. Maybe this will help either lower your ego or dont be closed minded and maybe you will see the time and effort that had been put into the rhymes and like it or at least appreciate it. I know some people cant stand the voice or his big vocabulary but not all his track are like that. Just give it a chance and if you dont like it i guess bis just isnt your cup of tea and thats all good.

I actually downloaded the album.. it was pretty good listen I loved some of the tracks..
Ima admit some tracks murdered maybe one Relapse track but Em can still murder Canibus!
