In a recent interview 50 said he's going to "battle music piracy until the very end".
What's funny is, before BISD came out, he was saying how it doesn't really matter - How that with the Internet etc. it just means people can hear the material until they buy it and all this. Totally 'on the side' of piracy if you will, then just because BISD bombed he jumped fence immediately lmfao.
Interview here.
So just because people don't want to buy his trash he's now assuming piracy is the reason for his failure. Unbelievable ego, maybe he should check the quality of his music and come to a true realization. Also, battle it to the end? How ridiculous.
Fighting technology has never worked and trying to 'X OUT' piracy is NOT, I repeat NOT / NEVER / EVER... EVER going to work. The ones who work WITH IT are the ones that will make $$$. All these old-fashioned label execs / morons being hard headed about the situation, thinking that tearing down every YouTube video is the way to go are going to lose big time.
They're outnumbered on such an absurd scale it's barely worth mentioning. But since it's such a huge scale... It's worth mentioning for that alone. Everytime they take down a video, there's 1,000 more of the same already on there way up then there's 50,000 more people that will be putting the same up soon. Then as soon as they almost entirely kill one method of content spread, there's another 50 methods created which spread almost instantaneously around the net. To which 100 variations are then created.
People aren't just a few steps ahead. Collectively, the Internet is marathons ahead. It's lightning quick and exponential. People still pay for music, but the way in which they pay has changed dramatically as it will with all future media. People want the speed and convenience of the net. Of course many people will still want physical product, as I do myself with certain CDs but they will become the fringe. As for people who download for free, again, this cannot be stopped and fighting it head on is the worst possible option.
50 has now joined those ranks of idiots.
