Lmao @ 50, Now to Fight Piracy 'Until the End'

Postby EminemBase » May 9th, '10, 21:08

In a recent interview 50 said he's going to "battle music piracy until the very end".

What's funny is, before BISD came out, he was saying how it doesn't really matter - How that with the Internet etc. it just means people can hear the material until they buy it and all this. Totally 'on the side' of piracy if you will, then just because BISD bombed he jumped fence immediately lmfao.

Interview here.

So just because people don't want to buy his trash he's now assuming piracy is the reason for his failure. Unbelievable ego, maybe he should check the quality of his music and come to a true realization. Also, battle it to the end? How ridiculous.

Fighting technology has never worked and trying to 'X OUT' piracy is NOT, I repeat NOT / NEVER / EVER... EVER going to work. The ones who work WITH IT are the ones that will make $$$. All these old-fashioned label execs / morons being hard headed about the situation, thinking that tearing down every YouTube video is the way to go are going to lose big time.

They're outnumbered on such an absurd scale it's barely worth mentioning. But since it's such a huge scale... It's worth mentioning for that alone. Everytime they take down a video, there's 1,000 more of the same already on there way up then there's 50,000 more people that will be putting the same up soon. Then as soon as they almost entirely kill one method of content spread, there's another 50 methods created which spread almost instantaneously around the net. To which 100 variations are then created.

People aren't just a few steps ahead. Collectively, the Internet is marathons ahead. It's lightning quick and exponential. People still pay for music, but the way in which they pay has changed dramatically as it will with all future media. People want the speed and convenience of the net. Of course many people will still want physical product, as I do myself with certain CDs but they will become the fringe. As for people who download for free, again, this cannot be stopped and fighting it head on is the worst possible option.

50 has now joined those ranks of idiots.

BISD was dope imo. But yeah, fighting the internet is just an idiotic idea, the labels have to learn how to work with it, Iovine said something about that in the interview where they announced(lied about) Detox coming this year.

Well I didn't understand so many people used this ridiculous 'hating on' get-out everytime somebody disagrees with or dislikes some of an artist's material or opinions lmao. It's so fucking stupid.

I'm not 'hating on' him, I genuinely think a lot of his music is trash and I have a right to express that opinion just as you have the right to denounce or ignore it. But don't tell me I can't express it or that I'm being an asshole for holding an opposing opinion to you. That's as stupid as me saying you're being an asshole for not agreeing with me that his music is awful.

Also, this post isn't even about his music. It's about views he's expressed so wtf are you all on about. Learn to read and digest. Food for thought fuckers, grow an appetite.

Yeah but I doubt he did work really hard on it.

When he's done three previous albums of gangsta cliche' and booty tracks, coming with the exact same thing ain't working hard.

He's a pretty intelligent guy outside of his music so if he had obviously put his soul in artistically, strained his thought processes, come up with real, striking originality and then it bombed - Maybe I'd agree with you. But what did we get. Not just more of the same but more of the same done worse.

He quite obviously doesn't try hard. He's lazy as fuck, just brags about money, fame and wealth and starts pointless beefs.

The guy has a huge ego, just one of the many reasons why i cant stand him. Ive seen some interviews of him and em, and this guy demands the camera to be more focused on him. Whether he s just joking or not is besides the point, he still comes off as a douche either way. I was actually expecting better from BISD but minus a few tracks, the shit was garbage. I doubt he put in a lot of work into it anyways and he should be happy, it sold more than B.O.Bs album.
What a turd 50 is for trying to fight piracy. This guys a hypocrite and has got a massive ego. The guys irrelevant nowadays. Just lame.

Indeed. And yes he always tries to bring the spotlight back on himself when he feels Em's had too much. It's not just that though, there's so many examples of egotism (that were not ironic on his part) that show what a very very deluded and misguided guy he is.

EminemBase I agree with some of your points, 50 has fallen off, hard. But he doesn't suck, and his recent album sales in the first week were due to the album leaking a good 2 months before release, that would hurt any artists sales, no matter how big they were, so tbf he would've done at least 200k+ first week without that huge leak. Though I haven't liked much of 50's music since Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

EDIT: And i strongly agree that 50 has a huge ego, it's fucking annoying. And he's a businessman these days, not a rapper. IMO.

50 does suck and was never that great to begin with.

His early tracks like "How to Rob" and "Your Life's on the Line" are still easily his best tracks. But he was never and certainly isn't now a great lyricist. The only thing he truly brought to the table was a more gritty realism and dark melodic hooks.

As a lyricist, he's embarrassing and he's one of the least creative rappers / artists in history. BISD didn't flop because it leaked early that's just an excuse. Em leaked a month early too, still sold 600k 1st week. BISD flopped because he spent all his time leading upto it overhyping it, setting himself up for a disaster and bad talking other people. Trying to re-ignite old beefs and start new ones (like he does every album) instead of focusing on creating DECENT music. Then of course, people were hugely disappointed and word got to the album being trash and wa'la. Also, many people probably intentionally didn't buy it because there's a faster than ever spreading dislike of him personally too.

There's only so long you can play the bad guy before you REALLY become the bad guy and even people who liked you now dislike you. He hasn't got the intelligence of true self-awareness and thinks he can't ever admit any weakness. Trying to appear immortal. BISD was lyrically awful (as usualy) and creatively void of anything. Just the same old cliche' and booty shit done in even less interesting ways. His... One single flow / style has been painful to listen to since The Massacre. He's so lazy and blah.

50 Cent is not a great rapper or a great artist. Why do you think after four albums many rap fans still won't even entertain him being one of the greats (lyrically / creatively) and why after Em's 2nd people were already saying he was the GOAT. And no it's not because he's white. It's because he brought striking originality in intense and genius ways. 50 is unoriginal, unexciting and bad at what he does. Or tries to do.
