Ok those are just the labels but Universal is the boss of Def Jam and Interscope. Interscope is the boss of Shady/Aftermath/G-Unit and Def Jam is the boss of Murder Inc and Def Jam South. And you forgot Atlanta and Koch but you got most of the big record companies.

But nowadays a lot of rappers are indie. That means that they got there own label and do there own promotion. They do that cause they will make a lot more money for every cd sold. They got like 1 dollar for every record sold at a big record label and 5-8 dollar when they do everything themself.
