First off, the '80s are completely irrelevant, because the OP isn't talking in past tense. I've only heard a few British rappers I could bear to listen to personally. Most British accents just don't work with the style.. at least in my mind. The ones who are good are great, though. To say on average UK rappers are better than US seems ridiculous to me, though. I've heard less than 5 British artists that I can even listen to, and even those only on occasion.

Also - Slick Rick lived in the US since he was 10 anyway.
