I think the only way to make a good guess at Recovery's totals by the end of the year would be to say:

1.98M currently.

He will sell over 100K for I'd say 4 more weeks, so conservatively that's another 500k in the next month.

So by mid Sept: 2.5M

If he can sell over 50k for the next month, again being pretty conservative, that's another 200k.

So mid Oct: 2.7M

The last 10 weeks of the year selling another 400k seems reasonable, especially with the christmas push.

So by end of year I'd say conservatively he'll sell 3.1 million.

My actual guess would be 3.3-3.4 million, which should get him the top spot

you guys, you have to consider that Recovery is the still the only "mainstream" release since June till now, it may have a major drop in sale once all the big albums come out and take away people's attention. And LTWYL has already peaked, it will go downhill/stall in the next few weeks, we still don't know how well will next single do and it will affect the sale too.

While this is true, Eminem has 2 big shows coming, probably many other collabs coming (including Kanye West), and another single or two.

Eminem should emulate Gaga and release an EP in 2011 to milk its LP a little longer. Gaga is still selling 20k+ every week.
