No one wants to make music for a group of people only. Recovery = critics & mainstream success, both mainstream & long time fans like it, Relapse not.
Then it means that the ones who bought MMLP and TES , only a lil part bought Recovery?

not sure what you meant, of course not everyone who bought his old albums gonna buy his new one for tons of different reasons, most probably just grown out of his music & has more important things to do in life since MMLP, TES were all like 10 & 8 years ago.
lol and most ppl who bought MMLP & TES were because of his catchy poppy first singles, sorry but he has ALWAYS been a popstar, anyone tries to deny is delusional

Emshady2 wrote:Yes but from 10 million sales (MMLP) (TES) Only 3 million bought Recovery. Then it means it was only a small part of new fans that bought RECOVERY

according to me his popularity is more than in those days....less people have left him and more have joined

Alaine wrote:^^ what about Encore? 5 millions in 2004 for Eminem who just came out of the highly successful album TES & the highly successful movie 8 mile was not really impressive. Sale climate only started crumbling since 2006 and Encore opened big but it didn't have legs.
When you compare the sales, notice the time different and compare the album with its comparators (albums also out right now), not albums out years ago.
