Eminem on course for 3x Platinum in Canada in a week or two
GBS can't beat Eminem on charts
Eminem stays at No. 1 for a fourth consecutive week.
Recovery sold 30,000 this week and 31,000 last week. Only a 1k drop.
Great Big Sea made waves on the Canadian charts, but the No. 1 spot was only a mirage.
The Newfoundland folk-rockers' new album "Safe Upon the Shore" (7,000) sailed in at No. 2, well behind the top disc in the country, Eminem's "Recovery," which racked up another 30,000 copies this week.
It marks the fourth straight week for Slim Shady at No. 1, and he's sold nearly 200,000 in that timeframe.
186,000 copies sold in Canada in 4 weeks!

The hip-hop superstar’s four straight weeks at #1 with his Shady/Aftermath/ Interscope album Recovery is being threatened this week by Def Jam/IDJ Miami rapper Rick Ross, whose Teflon Don is on target to do between 170-180k in sales.
With placement in Target and Best Buy circulars, Eminem’s Recovery, off just 15% this week, is in the early lead, but the outcome is still very much in doubt.
That’s according to one-day sales reports from those retailers whose doors are still open and air conditioners whirring. As Springsteen puts it, “Is anybody alive out there?”
Next highest debut is A&M’s Sheryl Crow roots blues album, 100 Miles from Memphis, which will enter the charts with 45-50k in first-week sales.
Walt Disney’s Jonas Brothers Jonas L.A. album, the soundtrack to their TV series, should do around 35-40k.
Finally, Razor & Tie’s cottage industry, the 18th edition of Kidz Bop Kids, will bow with between 35-40k
The market was flat vs. last week, down 23% vs. same week last year (still in the throes of Michael-mania) and remains down 12% year to date.
Wonder what Mel Gibson would have to say about that.

At least, I've sensed a consensus with my tastes here. Maybe I'm wrong.
Come to think about it, I've even seen the same like-mindedness in non-rap. Most people seem to give Lady Gaga her dues, while calling out embarrassments such as Kesha or Usher (at least, that new track...) and the Black Eyed Peas (THEIR OLD STUFF WAS TIGHT WTF HAPPENED?)
Meanwhile, Lil Wayne fans seem to be into the same stuff... Rick Ross, Gucci Mane (I guess), ...Waka Flocka?
I agree wit you for most of the part.Only thing is that Lady Gaga gets much hate from Eminem fans, every Eminem fan on youtube says she sucks and shit. They`re mad at her cause she`s much bigger then Em nowdays. And Kesha, that bitch is just trying to be Gaga, thats why most of the people hate her, even tho I like Tik-Tok,I never liked Usher and BEP is dope nowdays,I like this new stuff more then the old stuff.I Gotta Feeling,Boom Boom Pow,Meet Me Halfway...all dope songs to bump in your car
