I'm not sure, but I know there was a lot of debate before over that Outkast album and whether it had sold more than Eminem lol.

Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is a double album obviously, so if it says it has sold 11 million, it has only actually sold 5.5 million, because a double album is counted twice.

Same with Biggie's 'Life After Death' album. It's 10x platinum but has only actually sold half of that.

The fact that 'Life After Death', the album which was released 2 weeks after Biggie's death, in 1997, when record sales were substantially more healthy than they are today, in the midst of a massive story/hype/promotion following a shock death story has 'only' technically sold 5 million copies.....when Recovery, a 2010 album with very little promotion released by an artist on his 7th major studio album, has sold over 3.42 million copies in 7 months alone....sort of suggest that the sales for LIFE AFTER DEATH are not that impressive lol. I wouldn't be surprised if Recovery surpasses the 5 million mark, eventually.

If Eminem released a double album, the sales would be mad. Even in this market, let alone in the past.
