Adele's genre impresses a lot of older aged people, who aren't familiar with downloading. That's probably another reason why her sales have been butt fuck high.

I agree she has a good voice but I don't see any originality in her and she bores me. Oh well, as long as other people like her and at least she is vocally talented.

This is what I said earlier, she has that "Old School" voice that has managed to get her "Older Aged" fans.

I'm kinda sick of hearing Rolling in the Deep on the radio at the place where I work. That being said, this Adele chick seems to be a genuinely good artist, and not some bullshit, talentless gimmick like pretty much every single other popular female artist on the planet.

I'm kinda interested in listening to her 21 album.

That's what I thought too.. But according to the worldwide year-to-date sales figures on UKMIX, Recovery has sold 856,000 copies as of mid-November. It sold 5.6m worldwide last year, so that makes it approximately 6.5 million sold worldwide..

The official worldwide sales for Recovery last year were just over 6 million when published by the IFPI. This year it will have done around or over 1 million so certainly 7 million or over now.

I think ukmix just got them sales from the website called mediatraffic.de which just estimate and can be off by alot as they never estimate 100% accurate and miss many smaller nations.

Yeah certainly and 7 million is more likely. The wikipedia list misses big selling markets such as india, canada, south korea, brazil & the netherlands among many more. Plus many of the cerifications are below what they should be like in the UK it's shipped & distributed 900k now but the certification hasn't been updated to 3x plat.

Europe as a whole - 1.8m (with the UK being almost half of that at 800-900k, France & Germany 200k each)
North America - 4.6m (US 4.1m, CAN, 500K)
Oceania - 300k (Aus 260k, NZ 40k)
Asia - 250k (Japan being 140k of it)

that equalls 7m alone and misses South America & Africa.

Recovery must still be 2nd in the best sellers worldwide behind Adele. Big gap from 13m to 7m.
