Why would they do this? Eminem isnt some new artist in the game that need shit like this to be big. It doesnt make sense to me. If Eminem is over then Eminem is over and Jimmy Iovine understands that imo. So why would he waste his money just to place Eminem on the top of the charts, when he could do the same for some new artist on the label. There is no reason in saving the old dog, when you can help the young one. just my opinion.

He sold 318,000, a bit more than Recovery's 2nd week.

Drake is 79%
And JayZ is around 79% or moreso.
.......
Katy does better with a 65% drop, but she is usually know for longevity .....
But I just want to say 70% drop might be the new standard in this industry.
We still don’t know what Em exactly sells in his second week, so we still have to wait and see.

Over on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, as previously noted, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" rules the top of the list, as it zooms from No. 67 to No. 1. (It debuted last week due to early sales, as some retailers broke street date and started selling the album early.)

Yeah, let's not forget that HITS' final numbers were off by about 20k.

True... they won't be accurate this week as well. If Em sold like 240k would be pretty good too. Definitely 2 X Plat somewhere in January anyway.

Lady Gaga and Eminem are both on Interscope. It seems reasonable to assume that they wouldn't want Eminem to block her from #1 (both reaching #1 is for the label). That is to say, I suspect Interscope intentionally push really hard for Gaga this week, and keep the Eminem promo "relatively low". One must also realize that the market is in a really bad shape, in terms of album sales. In any case, I think Em will regain the #1 spot "next next" week.
