The comparison between Recovery and MMLP2 is a lil bit to easy when if u only look at the sales .

Recovery for me was an album with which he wanted to show he is still there after the Repalse thing (Can we say Flop?) .
MMLP2 blows lyrical everything away he released the last 5 years , but why it sold not so much ?!

Maybe because the Albums sales are lower than 2010?(Sportify etc)
This is maybe one reason, but i think MMLP2 is for his old hardcorefans which he is trying to re-enable ,not the corefans who heared LTWYL on the radio and said "man i need this album " or visited the rihanna concert .

Ok we had the Monster , but it is a joke compared to LTWYL from sales view. The magic was gone after the first work together.LTYL has a story which connect a lot of people .
And the others?
part 2 to was ok single potential? ,
numb was shit ( Em verse was average ) ,
and the monster was a good song (a lot better than LTWYL) but without so much hype .
..
..

one other reason:
Maybe Eminems is not cool enough , i know maybe 4 People in my friendcircle in Germany who celebrate Em like me .(Funny, those are just my best friends ^^)
Maybe are guys like Drake ,Lil Wayne more actractive for the young kids.

I hope u know what i mean , it is very hard to explain in english for me ^^

The thing he messed up with, imo, is singles.
The Rihanna collabo thing worked wonders for him in 2010, not really because he worked with a huge pop diva, but the topic domestic violence was interesting enough and Rihanna just had a high-profiled domestic violence case the year before. Everything suits well. But it should not be repeated. I donnot know you guys, but I just feel that he somehow centers his new album’s most striking promo around the Rihanna collabo song. The tour…live performances……he garnered hype from it, but not so much respect, to be honest. The album will most likely end up similar to Relapse, 300k higher than Relapse maybe, that’s it. Also JT, Coldplay, even Drake refuse to feat a pop diva in their songs from their latest albums, why Em still doing this? Is he sure Monster could gain sale for his album??

I don't feel the same way to be honest. Most people for some reason don't include Survival as a single so look at the list: 1. Berzerk 2. Rap God 3. Monster 4. Headlights

3 out of the 4 were surprisingly original and authentic. Yeah, there was also a "pop" single. But you're speaking as if The Monster was his only single. Berzerk and Rap God together are probably his best lead singles since Eminem Show (I am a huge 3 am fan though). Eminem got all of the respect he needed when Rap God dropped. No one doubts how good he is after that just because Monster released. To me that just says that he can make super rap tracks popular, and he can still make massive radio singles. Nobody really pulls both of those off at the same time at that level.

The album will most likely end up similar to Relapse, 300k higher than Relapse maybe, that’s it.

It took Relapse over a year to reach double platinum. It only took MMLP2 like 5 months. I really doubt they are on the same sales track. That's also considering 5 years have passed since then. With every couple years there's almost an inflation in sales to consider.
Also JT, Coldplay, even Drake refuse to feat a pop diva in their songs from their latest albums, why Em still doing this? Is he sure Monster could gain sale for his album??

Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, and Drake are pop stars. All of their music is radio friendly. The only songs on the album that obviously sound "radio" are Survival and The Monster in my opinion. There are a bunch that might do well as singles, but don't sound specifically pop-oriented.

All I'm trying to say is that I think all is better than it might seem. I'm really really happy with the album. To see it hit a happy medium between the really non-commercial Relapse, and the really commercial Recovery makes sense to me. I think that reflects exactly what the album sounds like.

I tend to agree. The Monster did what it was supposed to do as did Survival. The Monster was most likely intended to be (and i'm guessing was, at least so far) the most commercial single, the biggest advertisement for the album and it's done that. I can't really think of another track on the album that would have worked in that sense in the same way. I wasn't keen on Survival as a single because it's probably my least favourite track on the album but it plays well on radio.

I think the variety in the choice of singles has been good..Most of the tracks on Recovery had a somewhat similar sound - at least for most people who aren't necessarily 'fans'. Every single that's been released for MMLP2 has it's own identity for want of a better word (it's 3am idk). You can distinguish them clearly and it's been a clear example of just how versatile both Em and the album specifically is.

Adele must feel a lot of pressure to top 21.

Those numbers are almost unbelievable (literally).
