Marijuana and sense of rhythm (Real or not?)

Marijuana and sense of rhythm (Real or not?)

Postby RainMan44 » Mar 18th, '12, 07:05

Is it only me, or does anybody else experience this.

First off, there are certain beats that I just can't flow on. And also, sometimes I can stay on beat, but can't make my flows very creative.

I have noticed that after blazing,

I can stay on beat better, flow more creatively, I'm more in tune, harmonize with the beat better, etc. My sense of rhythm is just overall better.

Is this truly the case and others experience this too, or do I THINK this is the case 'cause I'm high at the time? Lol.

Also, when you listen to music high do you find yourself hearing instruments and back up vocals you never before heard listening to that song sober?

Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Are you high right now?

Nope, I stopped. Looking for a job.

But seriously, am I the only one who has a better sense of rhythm when I do toke?

Or at least thinks they do?

The reason I asked is due to the fact that this should be in the A.S. Lounge, not the actual Audio Stage.

I don't usually pay that much attention to such things, but Audio Stage is for music posting only.

To answer your question though, I think it may have something to do with easing your anxiety about being off-beat, along with enhancing creative ability.

I don't think marijuana makes a difference, tbh. After all the times I've sparked, and tried to write, I found no difference.

This.

I also don't also become a better writer (a lot of people seem to have this misconception that when you're high you're ALWAYS going to be 100x more creative but it really depends on the person's mind state I suppose...Right?)

Well, it depends on the type of marijuana as well.

Heavy indica strains probably don't do all that much for creativity, because it's such a body high. Strong sativa strains might be more suitable for creative exercise, because it's such a head high.

Marijuana does help with creativity in a lot of people. Sort of the same reason people get paranoid, their mind is being creative, but it's in an negative and unharnessed kind of way.
